Try somewhere like boots or even big supermarket. Many key fob batteries are the same as camera batteries & are widely stocked.
To open the fob, if there are no screws holding it together it will be a question of carefully prising it apart. Is there a line running round the middle of the fob? Try carefully inserting a small screwdriver blade in this bit & gently levering the two parts apart. (I take no responsibility for this if it goes horribly wrong by the way!)

i do no longer understand if it relatively is an Astra problem yet I even have discovered this problem with a Volvo and a BMW. examine that the boot-mild isn't staying on each and every of the time. it relatively is basically a small load yet will thoroughly drain the biggest battery in 3 or 4 weeks. as quickly as the battery is 0.5 discharged, prevalent driving won't totally recharge it (except you do very long journeys). A extreme-powered motor vehicle audio gadget, with a extensive capacitor linked directly to the battery, could have a similar effect. i anticipate you have checked the alternator.

If i am not too late, 1st try initialising the fob (this has to be done each time the battery is removed from the fob) Jump in car, close doors, put key in ignition, turn once to 1st mark (I) press and hold any button on the fob for about 3 seconds, the doors will lock and then unlock, job done!! if this does not happen it may well be the battery, chemists sell them, but not cheep. Initialise once new battery is in.
good luck

There are plentiful of batteries available in the market. The price varies with brand and capacity.
A maintenance free battery is also more expensive than a battery that need regular check and to top up water.
A battery normally lasted about 2 to 3 years.
Look at the top or side of the battery for the rated voltage and capacity (AH). For astra, should be 12 V 45AH or 55 AH, check to confirm.
Once you know the battery spec go to the nearest battery shop to look for one that suit your budget
Lastly, if you want to save all the troubles, drive back to the agent that will cost you extra!!!!!!

Open up the fob and copy down the number and type of battery then search in the internet for a price. Try www.battery-force.co.uk. They stock all common batteries.

tesco sells this type of popular battery prices from £2. 06. key cutting shops often sell watch batterys which are the same as a lot of remotes and cheaper. if it uses a small 12 volt battery lucas or motor accessories shops sell these they may refuse to fit them for you because of legal liability. they will proberly be able to offer advice on opening and fitting batterys
