Hi I was driving my Vauxhall Corsa 1.0 home from work Friday night & I didnt notice until I drove over it that there was a mechanical cog in the road which clattered under my car. I pulled over to look for any damage but it seemed ok. I then drove about 100 miles with no problems but now my emissions light has come on on my dashboard. I cant get my car into a garage until next Monday will the car be ok to drive in the meantime & does anyone know what I could have possibly done. Any suggestions will be great many thanks!

It sounds like may have severed a wire from the oxy sensor which is located on the exhaust system. Take a look under and reconnect the ends.

If the light is on constant, take it as soon as you can. If it's flashing, don't drive it at all!
