Can anyone tell me what the problem is and whether it is going to be expensive to repair. The rev counter is on 500 when it's stationary and I haven't noticed it was that low before. Is that normal?

I know they do many of these conversions in Mexico (even auto manufacturers have many models converted there), but I am too far from there & it wouldn't be feasible. I want to have a Volkswagen Golf TDI (diesel) made into a a Cabrio, since this combo was never offered in the USA. I believe this should be an easier conversion to make, since all the parts would be availible from a stock VW Cabrio (which IS a Golf) & therefore can be purchased from VW. Any suggestions?

I just bought one I am trying to find technical information on it. I have the repair and owners manual and they just don't cut it. Any ideas on where to find it? I am turning this car into a racer, what do you think that I should do to it first? There are a lot of tiny almost insignificant parts like a side reflector and those covers for the lights that go on the inside of the trunk that are missing, where can I find parts like those? Sorry for the mass of questions. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

My brother has just given me a 1997 Vauxhall Astra 1.4, it's in a bit of a state and this will probably be the first of many questions. Basically I brought it back thurs night parked it up and by sat am the handbrake is completely seized on. Although very wet here the temperatures haven't dropped below freezing and I can't seem to get the brakes to pop off. Firstly how do I get the car moving again and secondly how do I stop this from happening again as it's a little irritating ??????

It did it suddenly, just shut off. I have replaced the ignition module and the coil. The battery is good and the fuel pump is working ( yes there is gas in it too) My next thought is to replace the whole distributor but I was told maybe it could be the rotor button($2) or a "crank sensor"???? I think. which is $20 but must be put on a hoist to replace. The distributor is $125 plus core charge so Im not sure what to try next. Help!!

My car's transmission fluid says "do not overfill". I'm curious, what's so bad about overfilling? Would it damage something or just make a mess?

Hi All

I have a 97 e320 that is driving me crazy at the moment. You can go to it in the morning ,sometimes it will start straight away and then cut out immediately, it then starts again and continues to run. drive it down the road for a short while ,then it will cut out on a regular basis. last week it stopped approx 15 times whilst driving to the local dealers 3 miles away.

The dealer put it on the diagnostic machine, but the ecu refused to talk to the machine, technician was baffled by this and also by the way it stops suddenly, like you have turned the key off, no misfiring, just sudden stop.

I've driven down town this morning, car was fine on the way down, on the way back it started to cut out, and then refused to start. What i have noticed this morning, once it finally refused to start, the red and green lights in the rear view mirror flash like crazy when you crank the engine over, could this be an immobiliser fault?
Any suggestions or help appreciated
