I'll give it a shot.
1. Gas gauge, oil pressure, engine temp, speedometer, and tachometer.
2. Pulleys are on the crankshaft, alternator, power steering, A/C compressor, water pump
3. It's basically a step-up transformer that changes 12V to 30k-40kV
4. It's driven by a gear from the camshaft and is timed to distribute voltage to the plugs when the piston is near TDC top dead center on the power stroke.
5. With key on, move to the start position, voltage is applied to the starter solenoid that will pull in the bendix to engage the starter gear with a flywheel to turn the engine. standard 4 cycle engine, intake, compression, power, exhaust.
6. Friction is applied to a disk or a drum to slow/stop the wheel from turning. hydraulic pressure is used on cars semi-trucks have air brakes on the trailers
