It did it suddenly, just shut off. I have replaced the ignition module and the coil. The battery is good and the fuel pump is working ( yes there is gas in it too) My next thought is to replace the whole distributor but I was told maybe it could be the rotor button($2) or a "crank sensor"???? I think. which is $20 but must be put on a hoist to replace. The distributor is $125 plus core charge so Im not sure what to try next. Help!!

Thank you for the answers!! I found the problem, it was the ignition module, but the person who put it on, took the old off and put it right back on again!! I shouldnt complain because he was the only one willing to help me, but he'd definately had one too many!! Any way, the wires that plug into the module have to go in a certain order so the person who ultimately ended up replacing the module put them on in the wrong order. I was starting to replace the whole distributor when we noticed the wires were in the wrong order. Fixed them and it started right up. Some have distributors and some have crank sensors. Mine has a distributor. There was a debate about that here too.
