i have a 1980 Cutluss Supream and my Dad and I about 4 years ago dropped a brand new 350 V8 and my dad put a 4 burral (Holly) carbator with a chrome fliter cover and head mounts, and some water tried on the cover (not a lot of water) for the carbator filter and i want to clean it off, Can anybody tell me the best way to help it out and clean it.

My grandma has a 1990 toyota corolla and it is leaking oil and also white smoke is comming from the exhaust(alot of smoke), what could be the problem and how much to fix it? and can you still drive like that, and also how do you check and put oil in a car?

Does having a new tracking rod and tyres make your car steering appear abit loser at first or would it make it stiffer? Or does it make no difference to the car? I've just had the above done, and my car steering appears loser and veering slightly to the left??

Looked in the car and there are no locking wheel nuts and it needs new tyre, is this a serious problem, do I have to buy new set of wheel nuts or can the tyre people still replace the tyre without them?

The mechanic says it is the wheel bearings. This noise elevates the faster the car goes (ie X-way driving) to the point of having to yell to be heard. It sounds like a dull roar, maybe a little like a spinning whirl. Could this be the wheel bearings (will cost him $300 to fix). Thanks.

o.k so heres the deal out of no where my car started like jumping into gear hard, it's a 1995 saturn with a automatic transmission. It goes into drive fine but when put into reverse it makes a loud clunk noise, and when being driven it also clunks/jomos into gear. Anyone ever have this problem, and what was it?

i no it sounds stupid but im no mechanic but my turbo is really noisy when boosting, dont get me wrong i love the sound but is there a problem, it dont smoke and seems to boost perfectly. do some cars turbos whoosh more than others or is there something wrong. car is totally standard

nothing happens when i turn the key no electrical output at all then about 3mins later its comes back from the dead its like someone has stolen the battery for 3 mins then bring it back 3 mins later .its not the battery had it checked. FORD ESCORT 1997 silhoete

Recently we've had some cold weather below 20 degrees. I'm not sure if the temperature has anything to do with it. Sometimes my steering wheel makes a squeaking sound when I "cut" it. Is this something I need to worry about?

95 Chevy starts but won't stay running. 305ci. Fuel pressure about 8lbs when running, cheap gage, has good gas, no gas/water in oil, no oil in water, no backfire. Starts good at 30 f runs about 5 min then hunts, when it gets to the bottom of the hunt it has a loud sucking from the TBI. It does for three time then dies.

If you pump gas it revs, if you rev and hold it revs with a slight bog but if you rev higher during the bog it will rev higher. The ypipe flange just wore though so I have not been able to detect a vacuum leak. If you have any questions I will try to post anything to help.

My engine seems to be running a little more rought then before, and once every 10-20 seconds there is a bit of a squeak. I shared this with the gas station guy and he seems to think its my belt.

I drive a 2003 Blazer -- is this a universal belt? Serpentine belt [had it replaced 4 months ago]? Am I going to die on the highway? :P

Is there such thing as MBI's Mechanical Breakdown insurance and if so where do I get it at. Last night when i got off work my car started sputtering alot and shaking then the check Engine Light came on. So to make a long story short. I got AAA tow it to their nearing approved facility to have it looked at. Luckily it is only going to cost me $209 for some kinda of starter cylinder thingy. My future concern though is what if it turns out to be something major next time that will be me into a financial hardship..? I for sure cannot afford $7000 to replace my engine.

I have owned this suburban for four years and I have made these improvements to spend less money in fuel.
It has a LPG equipment, so it can use LPG gas and gasoline.
It has two mufflers, one for four cilinders and another for the other four.
I bought also a K&N filter for my truck.
I even bought a magnetic fuel economizer.

Whith all these things I get only 8 MPG (city) and 13 MPG (freeway) driving with LPG.My truck is in good condition and I use it on weekends and to travel with my familly.

I have read that I can do these things:

Change the 3 speed automatic transmission for an overdrive automatic transmision.

Change the eight cilinder 350 cu in carburated engine for a six cilinder fuel injected 292 cu in called vortec engine.

If you have a better suggestion than these or than changing my truck, thanks in advanced.

hI GUYS,

My sons 1994 Ford Fiesta mk3 has sat in my garage for a while as we were waiting for him to pass his driving test. He passed it today, so I booked it bin for an MOT tomorrow, only thing is it wont start.

It wants to run but wont fire up. The battery has gone flat so we used his friends car to boost his battery, he took the plugs out and dried them as they were wet, I got him to heat up the leads incase they were damp. The engine wants to start but wont , as he cranks it over it feels as if its firing but wont run, can anyone help please.

My car i have just noticed that my 15 minute drive to work after i let my car warm up in the driveway for 10 minutes still isn't getting warm! The needle is still below the C.. I thought it was my distance in this cold michigan weather.
Well i drove up north this weekend end different speeds some stopping and going! and my car still didn't even hit the C in my temp gage! What should i check in my car to see what is wrong!
My car is running fine I just noticed this and with it being cold i can't get warm in my car! the heat just don't seem to be working either!
any ideas?
