The main fault with all of these is that they make you look like a cheapskate with no style!
Seriously, my mum had one and this happened to her. The air intake is really close to the bottom of the front valance - if you come across a ford or any big puddles go VERY carefully, or you will suck loads of water into to engine and at that age it will be a write-off. Luckily her insurance company paid for a new engine and she traded it in for a Seat Ibiza. Don't know much about faults on older models as she didn't keep it long enough!

Interiors on all french cars are always likely to break and bits fall of.. That said, the 1.9 diesel engine is a belter and will go forever.

realy just general fault like any car has realy
keep up with the servise and all should be fine!

If it has a sun roof watch for leaks....they happen in 90% of clios of that age.

well, they are known for blwing the chassies, but that is only the case with R.Es in michigan, they also tend to need more oil than most other cars
