Call and get more then four estimates and see who will give you the best price to test and fix your car and then sell it for that much more (whatever you pay to get it fixed). You'll make your money back!

Good Luck!

An ABS sensor can be as cheap as 19 dlls and as expensive as 300 dlls.

They are located usually in the wheels (some in the differential) and depending on the car, can be really easy to change or a real nightmare.

All depends on the car you drive. I would not trash a car for a 20 dlls part.

it might come on good after the brake activity if a wheel sensor grew to become into broken, unplugged or mounting bracket grew to become into bent and moved the magnetic sensor out of selection. while the computing gadget starts receiving the sign from all 4 sensors, the gentle will circulate out on this is very own. each and every so often to sidestep injury the sensor would be bumped off, with the reason to interchange it until eventually now reattaching the wheel...then they forget approximately to place it lower back on or plug it lower back in...

I had a problem with the ABS brakes on my 97 Grand Prix. It turned out that while my car's battery had enough charge to operate the car, there wasn't enough of a charge to send a signal to the computer (or something like that), so the ABS light kept coming on. I had the battery replaced and that took care of the problem. (I hope I explained that clearly enough---I'm not a mechanical person, so am repeating by memory what the mechanic told me).

I would say the odds happen to be in your favor on this. You will probably be dollar wise better off (and headache better off) just selling the car without fixing the ABS problem as long as the brakes otherwise work fine.

I had a problem with my ABS light and I found a disconnected electrical connector by the rear wheel. Also, you need to check if there is corrosion in the connectors. Sometimes disconnecting and connecting connector might help.

it may not even be the sensor chcek to see if there is brake dust build up on the tip of the sensor and the rotor. if the sensor does not see the little "nubs" on the inside of the rotor it will set off thabs light
