My 1999 Jeep will not crank from time to time.
Turn the key, it does nothing. Come back 20 mins later it starts just fine.
Checked the key, checked the starter, I have already "rebuilt" transmission. Checked the computer.
At a loss.
HELP!

I have an '04 Dodge Neon and the interior 'brake' light keeps flashing on and then goes right back off. This happens while I'm driving but not every time. Is it something I need to get checked out or is it just a short?

My battery died yesterday, but I was able to recharge it. Now the problem is that I have the SRS light in the dashboard on, and the radio which is locked.

How do I fix those 2 issues?

If you don't have an exchange battery they charge a "core" charge. If you do, they charge you a "disposal" fee. What's up with that?
Are they just hidden fees? I don't know of anyone that rebuilds automotive batteries anymore. This is an ancient fee that has never been removed and we just pay it blindly.

Camry 1998, leaking a dark fluid from the back part of the front hood on the passenger side. From what i can tell, it is not green, it does not smell, my oil level is fine, my coolant level is fine, my breaks work fine. It is accompanied with a burning-type smell when I am idling or if I have just stopped the car. Ideas? What am i leaking? is it expensive to fix?

I have a 1986 Thunderbird and i found a port in the engine compartment labeled "EEC test". I think these cars have computers in them and i was wondering how you could connect to them with a modern laptop or something, and if you could do anything to it.

Thanks

I will be making a trip to Mexico in a 2001 Dodge Caravan. The van has 82000 miles on it. The trip will be about 5000-6000 miles. Thats including the ride there, and the ride back. I am kind of worried though because the timing belt has never been changed. Should I, or is it neccesary to change it, or will my van hold up?

I have checked all the fluids, and changed all the tires, got it alligned, and you know, all the stuff they offer when you change your tires.

Suggestions?

The car has been paid off, the engine was just replaced with a new engine as it was covered under the warranty as the original engine recently failed.

It is possible the car could have additional issues (outside of the engine) if I keep it as it is a 5 year old car, so does it make sense to trade it in now before other stuff may start to go wrong. Finances are currently tight, so I would be trading it in for a newer used car, hopefully more reliable. (this question is being posted for a friend of mine)
