I found out that while driving, especially while cruising at 40mph, there is a squeaky noise coming from the front wheels as it rotates. However, once I press on my brakes, the sound seizes. I really want to know what causes this sound and remedy it before it damages something in the wheel region.

It is the serpentine belt. I have check the belt it is in good condition and I have trying some belt dressing but it only helps for a little bit. A co-worker told me it needs to be tightened. I have no clue how to do this. I just need a description of what needs to be done and I can do it. I am good with cars. Remember this is a hit to my pride because I can't figure it out.

I own a 1990 Buick Park Avenue. It's a great car and runs really well except for I havent' been able to get it to start in the winter, I dont' own a garage to store it in during nights and I need the car to get to and from work. Does anyone have any ideas on how to get my car to start in the winter?

put the card into the dash and it tells me that the "steering is locked". The service light comes on, the car refuses to start. When the engine is then "turned off" it says "steering not locked". The steering wheel is physically locked the whole time however, I have tried to turn it but it wont budge. My car is stuck on the drive, unable to move. Any Renault whiz kids on here? Thanks J

I noticed my bill showed 3.90 hours after they called me to notify me the car was ready. I estimated the work would of been longer, since they replaced a waterpump, and cleaned flushed out and replaced anti-freeze. I dropped it off at 9AM, it was there in the parking lot, not in the garage when I arrived at 11:40AM, but Idid not understand the labor hours. I asked them, even the service manager, and they B.S. about the clock hours put the time on my bill, but I don't understand how they got 3.90 hrs, if my car was parked and ready. I wonder if it was done sooner, and they ripped me off some more. How can I be sure if they actually replaced my water pump and did a flush?I had problems with another Ford dealership about 2 yrs ago, and supposely they replaced my waterpump, but my heat was still having problems, and that Ford place told me I had to replace the heater core. So I don't know.

What can I use to get rid (of not cover up) the nasty cigarette smell in the headliner and interior of a used car that I just bought for my daughter?

My dad's Rover car with brand new engine was replaced about 18 months ago (under warrant then) - now 18 months later the engine has gone again! BUT it's out of its12 months warranty. He's hardly done any miles... always had it serviced by Rover approved garage.

Can he do anything? Costing at least 2 thousand pounds.

Would some law referring to 'fit for purpose' be appropriate? Any suggestions pretty please?

I have a year 2000 w reg Rover 75. Couple weeks ago I have notice that the floor behind the driver seat was wet. Using a cup and some clothes I removed the water and left the carpet humid but ready to get dry.
I was very surprise to find more water the next day when I checked it.
And since it a mater a few days to see water in the same place after I remove it.
I have no sunroof, and nowhere else seen to be wet. Only the floor behind the driver seat. Can you help with some relevant answers? thanks Mory

Is a check engine light an automatic failure of a NC safety inspection? Only reason it came on is that I took too long to get an oil change. Thanks!
