this wouldn't stop the wipers from working? fuse maybe?

It can if you ran the resevoir dry and they are on the same fuse.

Refill the resevoir and see if the problem goes away. If it doesn't, find and replace the fuse. If that doesn't help, you have worse problems. Get them diagnosed by a reputable mechanic.

I would check the fuse first. I don't think low washer fluid would make the wipers not work, but with some of these new cars you can't ever tell.

If the fuse blows the low fluid indicator light will come on.

a empty windsheild fluid container won't have not effect on the wipers not working. my guess would be check the fuse then if that doesn't work your wiper motor might have burnt up.

if your fuse is ok tap on the motor. if it starts up its the motor thats toast. if it still doesnt work the wire to the motor has to be check with a test light for both ground and positive. no + and no - see a mechanic

What kinda car??? Fuses first, then its either a short, bad motor, switch board!
