i agree in part with the first answer, but you can also add on a more free flowing exhaust, dont go too large otherwise youll lose power. you can also put in a larger coil whch will deliver more spark to the cylinder creating a hotter, more thorough burn, this will also in most cases increse your fuel economy. citing that the engine is 13 years old, i wouldnt suggest doing much else, unless you plan to rebuild the engine.but for the same sake you could just drop in a 3.0 or 4.0 engine.however, if its up to you to do this if u want, get the heads ported an polished, this will help with airflow into the engine.but since your engine's getting old, you may just want to for-go the port an polish.btw,if you change the coil, use a better sparkplug like bosch plat+2 ,or plat+4

First thing you should do IMHO is to get a Cold Air Intake from eBay! I bought one for my Saturn for $80. You really can beat that. It really increased throttle response and the car picks up a lot faster. Do that first and see how your truck performs. Im sure youll be surprised. Plus its really easy to install. Get one appropriate for your application and it should drop right in. A must for any vehicle.

You might also want to buy some new tires/wheels. They make a big difference too.

Dual exhaust with glasspack mufflers, K&N air filter, Throttle body spacer, header, High octane fuel, there isn't much for that motor! You should get a small block! Why do you want to Hot Rod a heap like that??? If you are serious then get a small block!!!

First of all, the motor is 13 years old, so it's probably lost a bit of power. The best bet would be a better flowing exhaust system.
