The "Service Engine Soon" light came on in my car today on my way home from work. What is the worse case scenario as to what it could mean? It's due to go to the mechanics on Monday, and he had said that the light usually comes on due to an emissions problem. Any other input? Could it be anything else? And if so, what? I HATE THIS CAR (1999 Ford Taurus)!!!

I purchased a battery from Checker Auto. The retailer sold me a battery with reverse terminals and upon installing the battery my vehicle sustained $600 in damages I filed a claim with the company and they said they would respond in (8) weeks. It has been 12 weeks and Checkers will not respond to any coorespondance. What is the best course of action? $600 is probably not worth hiring an attorney.

This goes in a '94 Ford F-250, just wondering what a 4 Elctrode plug would do fuel econmy wise compared to a factory motocraft plug. Would just a hotter plug be my best bet?

my 2000 Chevy Express 1500 vans left rear brake light operates normally until the brake is applied while the running lights are on-the middle bulb serving the brake light goes out, the running light continues to burn. The right rear lights operate normally always. Ive replaced bulbs, checked fuses-all good. Swapped bulbs from right to left-no change. Havent observed any physical damage to wiring I can see. Im out of ideas and cannot renew my inspection sticker until the lights work.

I'm wondering if there is a possibility I can swap the engine from my 1996 Grand Am GT (it already has a 3.1L V6), if so, tell me what I can put in it, or if it isn't worth doing.

I suspect the sensor is accessed from underkneath the car, toward the back of the block, near the center cylinders. The drawings I have place it in an inaccessible location, but access is required to test operation while vehicle is running.

I've got a cracked windscreen approx 5/6 inches long on the passenger side , but it will spread to the drivers side. The soonest they can fit me in is 7 days time, so two questions: is there a spray that you can buy that prevent the crack from spreading ( someone told me there is, but they can't remember the name. 2: can you get pulled over by the police and given points on your license for a cracked windscreen.

My nissan sentra is still brand new. Its under 3000 miles and already its making these weird noises. I brought my car back to the dealer because seriously ! this is a brand new car. I was told that the tech believes that the R.F strut Tower ASSY was making these WHIRRR noises on left turns. THe tech sprayed lube on the bearings, but i still continue to hear the WHIRR sound on left turns. I mean does anybody know whats the problem here ? I havent gotten into any accidents at all and recieved this car as a present for college from my parents. Its turning out to be a bigger problem then my finals right now and its just annoying. It would be really great if anybody could help me out here or if anybody had this type of experience with nissan. Also if this keeps up am i allowed to trade my car in or for an exchange ?

I drive a 1994 Celica 1.8L. I love th car but it doesnt have enough power. My first thoughts are exhaust, intake, and maybe wheels/tires. But after that what would you recommend. I was thinking a 50 shot of NOS, but I am still unsure. Any help?

So I found this awesome deal on a Mitsubishi 3000GT that I want to buy; the only downside is that it won't pass the smog test. HOWEVER, I've been told that there are solutions for rectifying this problem. Someone told me that there's a liquid you can buy and put in your car to make it pass. Someone else told me that you simply need to replace the catalytic converter. Assuming that this GT is completely stock with no previous smog-pass attempts, does anyone know a solution? And if so, can you provide me with a link to a webpage that outlines the procedure? Thanks.

This is a 1995 Nissan Sentra. The scratches have been caused by the windshield wipers. Apparently the previous owner neglected to change the blades periodically.

how much does it cost to fix a blown head gasket on a 1999 ford mustang V6 including labor and parts?
i am not sure if its a blown head gasket or not , but coolant is leaking into the oil , so i think its a blown head gasket or a vracked one .....i heard it can be fixed by some chemical metalic formula that can be aded through the radiator with water and it costs like 10 bucks ...is this true ? do they really work ? whats the consequence ?
