call the junkyards. you want to know how much, how many miles on the tranny. some will put it in as well and give youa 3 month warranty on the tranny
also read the car buyer ads see if anyone is parting out a 626 or just has the tranny you want for sale. shouldn't be too hard actually. the 626 was mazda's version of the probe. lot of people buy the 4-door 626 because it's cheaper on insurance, then take out the 4cylinders and put in a v6 requiring the other transmission.

Call Brandywine Auto Parts in Brandywine, Maryland. 1-800-638-3446 and ask for Compact Auto Parts. They specialize in parts for those type of cars. Any of the salesman there will gladly sell you a transmission for your 626.
