To go fast, who needs another reason. You can change the engine on any car as long as it fits and you have the proper engine mounts.
If you want something really different, a 2JZ twin turbo would make you car rare and unstoppable on the track. Also look at getting an RB20 (Skyline) engine from Japan. If you are looking for speed, that is the way to go. Budget for at least $6K.

well, i had a 94 sunbird with that 3.1 and a 89 olds cutlass cierra with the 2.8 thay made the sunbird, beretta, cavalier, corsica, and others all with the 3.1 and the cavalier and olds cutlass cierra with the 2.8 witch will bolt right in. the lumina im not 100 percent about.
