I've got a cracked windscreen approx 5/6 inches long on the passenger side , but it will spread to the drivers side. The soonest they can fit me in is 7 days time, so two questions: is there a spray that you can buy that prevent the crack from spreading ( someone told me there is, but they can't remember the name. 2: can you get pulled over by the police and given points on your license for a cracked windscreen.

Super Glue! believe it or not, make sure there is no moisture in the crack (leave car in sun for a couple hours) I have done this for a temporary spread deterrent and seamed to work. Actually made it through a whole winter this way. Just put a small bead of super glue directly on the crack and just a little way beyond on each end and let it cure. No, no points on license but if the crack is in field of vision they could pull you over. If all you have to wait is 7 days this should help fine. Good Luck:) BTW put the glue on the exterior, the key here is to keep the weather out of the crack.

I've never heard of the spray stuff. If you get a rock chip though, you can buy a repair kit to patch it. That will keep it from turning into a monsterous crack.
And I don't know about laws in your area, but here it is if you have a crack in your windshield that is over 9 inches long. Or if it disrupts the drivers view. As in a bunch of 7 inch cracks blocking the drivers view is illegal. And here it doesn't take any points from your lisence. It's just a fix it ticket. Which is you have a certaint amount of time to get it fixed. You go to the department and show them and they dissmiss the ticket. If you don't get it fixed in a certaint amount of time you get a fine. But no points from your lisence. Well good luck I hope this can help you.

well no their is no spray that you can getto stop it from cracking the only thing you can do is wait the 7 days and if it has not moved then they can fill it as for a cop stoping you it all depends on where you are from. i know in vermont they dont bother you much if its anylonger the 24 inches long or is blocking the drivers vision then ye they can and a way you can tell sometimes all depends on the law in that state is hold a peice of paper up infront of you and thats what they consider drivers veiew but i would check to see what the law is in your state but for as small as it is i think you would be fine with the cops

I have never heard of a spray to keep a crack from spreading. Sorry. You can get a ticket from the police depending on where the crack is (driver's view) and how bad it is. It all depends on how bored the cops are.

sounds to me like you need to phone "autoglass" (if you are in the UK ) if you have fully comp insurance the screen may be replaced for free at worse you will have to pay the excess. as for the spray that's a wind up. as for being pulled by the police. yes you can be done for it. The wind screen is an integral part of the cars safety
