Without knowing the vehicle it is hard to say. I would imagine you would have to remove the differential to replace the seal. I have replaced many on MB vehicles and it usually takes about 3 hours after you have done a few. If the differential must be removed to gain access to the seal and then a new seal installed, it could be a 5+ hour job the first time.
