Recently purchased a 2001 Subaru WRX with a check engine light on for a good deal. It runs very rich with black smoke out tailpipe and I can hear the engine missfire and sometimes popping. The engine is a 2.0 with a Garrett turbo and large intercooler. Engine actually runs better with main vac line removed. I can't hear the turbo spool up at all but when removing the air intake tube you can see the small propeller moving. There are about 8 codes that show; no surprise and the catalytic converter is gone. there are 2 small leaks in the exhaust right behind the turbo, too. Thank-you for your help.

i've lost brake feel in my 68 charger. brakes only activate after full travel, an even then it's not much. they're vacuum assisted, but there are no leaks in the vacuum system. could it be fluid related? new disks and calipers. could roll control have done something?feels like the fronts aren't doing anything. anyone who has had a similar problem, i'd love to hear from you, cause i love having brakes. come in handy sometimes. you know, like stopping.

Well, my husband was riding on the highway and two things happened. We just haven't been able to figure out which happened first. In the end, the front passenger wheel had a blow out and the back passenger wheel come completely off. There were no brake pads or nothing left. Everything was gone, the only thing left was the axle and the shcoks and struts. People when I say the entire wheel came off, I mean just that. Someone told me that the car had to be broken at the time I bought it. Any answers will be greatly appriciated.

help me with a problem? I have a 1994 P-30 motor home thas has become difficult to shift. I have disconnected the shift cable from the auto trans. and the column shift lever is still very stiff. That tells me the problem lies either in the cable or the column. Have any of you ace machanics seen this before? If the problem is in the column, what is the fix?

I 'll be driving, or setting idling in park, and it will just quit. It absolutely will not crank back up, but if you turn the ignition switch off and then back on, it fires right back up. Check engine light was on, but it was the mass air flow sensor. Replaced that but the problem persists. Unusual, does it cold or hot, sometimes goes a long time without doing it, other times you can't drive five miles without it doing it a couple of times.

Driver's window rolls down, but will not roll up without pulling by hand and making a terrible clacking noise; and rear window will not roll down or up (no noise at all). Anyone have any idea if the front is a regulator and the rear a motor, or vise versa?

I have a 1995 Eagle Vision. My brother started driving my car a couple months ago and he is a really hard driver I guess you could say. He likes to take off really fast when the light turns green, he loves to speed, he makes hard turns, and he brakes at the last minute. Well I get in my car today, and there is a grinding noise coming from my front passenger side tire. But the thing is, it only happens when I turn right. What is causing this? And does it have anything to do with my brother's driving?

I have a 98 Corolla, and at times the ignition will lock and I don't know what to do to unlock it. Usually I just end up jiggling the key around at the same time as the wheel while yelling at it. I don't know really what I'm doing that works, though I have a feeling it isn't the yelling.
Needless to say, it's pretty frustrating. Does anyone have any ideas of what may be locking the ignition in the first place, what I can do to prevent it from locking, and an easier way to unlock it if it locks?
Thanks!
