when I press down on the brakes. Recently, the mechanie checked out and even drove the car, and did something to the brakes - and it was Still noisy. The mechanic said he couldn't hear a thing. My friend who drove with me even heard it.

Then I put transmission oil in where it was supposed to go under the hood. NO more noise and the gages worked all day, and even for a few days. Drove the car today and the gages didn't work.
What or is there a corelation ? Baffled. I have a dogde neon 96.

i just bought a 2007 honda civic lx, the manual says not to drive it too hard for the first 600 miles, but some people that have bought cars say they never give the car a brake in period , and their cars are fine, my friend who lives about 150 miles away from town bought a scion and he took it on the freeway on the way home from the dealer, and he drives over 150 miles freeway every day to work, and hes car seem fine,. should i continue to drive like gramma or just forget about brake-in periods?, my foot aches to play with the gas pedal.

I cant find a fuse/relay box under the hood. There is one in the glove box. I unplugged one at a time, but the fuel pump still came on each time(when turning on the key) Auto parts stores are even confused.

I have recently purchased a 1998 ford ranger, and when I drive I can hear a grinding sound in the front right wheel. It sounds like there is sand in the bearing. I'm thinking it's the wheel bearing but i'm not sure. I can't really tell a difference in sound when I brake, corner, or accelerate. What do you think it is?

Even at 5,000-7,000 miles between my oil changes, my oil is still very clean, not black or dirty at all. I usually change it about every 6,000 miles, I dont think there is a need for every 3,000. Why does everyone say 3,000 miles!!!????? Isnt the whole point of an oil change to get rid of DIRTY oil?

I got hit by someone with progressive auto insurance. They took liability and Progressive is going to pay for all of my repair. They are going to have me go to their Progressive Service center, specifically the one in Portland Oregon. I want to make sure they are going to do a good job.

Has anyone gotten their car repaired at one of their service centers, or even the one in Portland? Did they do a good job or would I be better off finding my own place to take my car?

I would get a lifetime guarantee on the repair from Progressive. Has anyone ever had problems with this guarantee?
