It mostly makes smoke after I've been sitting at a light or super long drive through. It smokes when I push the gas pedal, then it stops after constant driving.

It started with the ABS Low trac lights. I replaced a front wheel bearing and that went off. Then, the service engine soon light appeared. After process of elimination, we're thinking it may be the filler neck tube on the gas tank as the code leads to a vacuum problem with the fuel system. The gas tank and seal are new. Now today, the security light came on. So far, the car is still starting with no problem, and I am aware of the ACC and wait 10 minutes to reset ritual should it arise. I'm just wondering...could it be a short and the lights are going haywire? I love this car, but she's driving me to drink. Basically, I'm looking for enlightenment (pun intended) on the situation, especially the security light.

Help me diagnose...My girlfriend said the car died when she was trying to make a right turn onto a street when giving it gas. She coasted it to the side of the street. Car has about 53,000 miles. I checked all the fuses, swaped the fuel pump relay with another comprable relay (ac compressor) and still didn't start. I then walked to the nearest grocery store and bought some starting fluid. While turning it over I was spraying the lubricant in the intake. It would hesitate to run for about 10 seconds then starve and die. The car has gas for sure...I could not hear the fuel pump turn on when turning the ignition on. Hmmmm help, I'm thinking that its a pump whatcha think??? Where is the pump on this olds??? Thanks!!!

Both the -14,000 and the wrench are red and are some sort of alert. The number has increased from -10,000 to -14,000 over time. Must be some sort of maintenance notice. But what does it exactly mean? The car has approximately 9,000 miles.

I have a 2001 mitsubish montero sport, 2wd automatic.

I changed the oil on it for the first time on this vehicle, and accidently drained the transmission pan.

I realized my mistake after it drained, so I replaced the drain plug, and got some ATF.

The vehicle holds 2.7 quarts of fluid. I put one quart in, and there was still no measurment on the dipstick. I put the other in, and it was difficult to tell, as fluid was all up the stick. I thought it was from running down the dipstick tube from when I added it.

I drove a couple of miles, and it slipped a bit, so parked it for 2 days.

I just ran the vehicle, changing from gear to neutral a bunch of times, thinking maybe it would activate the pump.

I just checked it after it has been running for a short time, and the dipstick is dry as a bone. There is no sign of leakage.

Any suggestions?

It's not hard for car companys to build a hydraulic jack into each corner of the car and run a pump of the engine. We use hydraulics for the braking system assisted by the engine so why not to lift the car?
Saves lying down on wet tarmac trying to find out where the portable jack goes...

have a chevy blazer that idles good, shifts okay but shudders when you hit 30-40 mph. When you first drive it doesn't do this, but after you have driven for a few miles then this happens. Spark plugs, fuel filter, pvc , apg all have been changed. Does shift hard when cold but fine after it warms up. Any advice on what this may or may not be? O2 senros is what we were told, but NO engine light comes on. THanks

if i even spelled culprit right, make fun of me if i didn't. so i have a 1989 dodge omni that's having a problem getting up to speed quickly. when you step on the gas it doesn't just jump up and go it kind of feels weak and goes how it pleases until it gets past about 25-35 then it hauls ***. i realize that there's a HUGE amount of things that could be affecting that but i'd kind of just like to get a few ideas so i can pin point it. there will be many more questions from me about it because it's my first project car. You can see it here at cardomain http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2457469 . But if anyone has any ideas as to what it is feel free to answer! Thank you!
