There is a good chance that the sensor has failed. But proper procedure would require someone doing the repair for money to run diagnostics on the system to determine if indeed the sensor has failed. There are other factors that can contribute to the "System Too Rich" code as well. So do you doubt the sensor and replace it, only to have the code come back after the repair?
If the MAP or MAF sensor has drifted just a little outside normal parameters, the same code will set.
If the fuel pressure regulator fails, again, the same code can set.
If the air filter is particularly dirty, here is that code again.
It is ultimately your call. Replace it based on the statistics of averages, or check the system and find the real cause.

Good Luck

Sounds like a ford! O2 sensor sure could cause this problem but what if it has a leaky fuel injector on bank 1. Pay to get it diagnosed it will come out cheaper in the long run

Personally, when I get a "check engine light" come on, I get some BLASTER (it comes in a plastic bottle, and does up to 20 gallons of gas, and its a red liquid). I put it in my gas tank, then wait a few days and the thing usually goes off.

You need to clean those jets and valves every so often, so I put it in a few times a year.

I wish you well..

Check your asir cleaner. Make sure it is clean and make sure all hoses and pipes are attached properly before you change the O2 sensor.
To reset your computer (for check engine light) unhook your battery for 20 seconds.

First try getting new gas, second disconnect your battery to let the computer reset. Third see if the alarm comes back and then they might be right.
