no. Premium fuel is needed only in cars that have high performance engines. Lower octane levels emit a knocking sound because the fuel ignites before it reaches the appropriate area. Higher octane levels means the fuel is slower burning. You should run the Jeep wrangler on the reccomended fuel which is likely regular gasoline. As for detergents and additives that is anyone's guess. Usually all fuels available are equal in protection for the engine.
-Needless to say, unless you can audibly hear a knocking sound on your engine, then you have no advantages for using more expensive fuel.

the octane rating of 93 is a very small jump from 87...yes 6 points...but octane is not like decibels whereby u double the loudness every 2 additional decibels...ur gonna pay so much more for gas and get no extra mileage or wear and tear than regular 87 octane gas...if a BS piece of mind is worth thousands of dollars to u then go for it... but check out this link first

as i said it is a very small jump, not in energy output as less intelligent answerers have implied, but in the fuels sensitivity to pressure induced ignition...in short, any newer computer controlled car is happy with regular unleaded

plus dont be a dummy and line the pockets of the oil companies, read the info in the link above

High octane gas is only beneficial if you have a high compression engine. There is actually no benefit to running the high grade in a regular engine. There is a reduction in the emissions with the higher octane gas but the financial cost isn't worth it in my opinion.

Wranglers were made to accept regular fuel, not premium. It will stay in excellent condition using regular ol' gas.

I think premium gas which burns hotter is good for any engine,it simply burns more cleanly, less deposits on your valves!

Try regular gas. If it knocks and pings, don't use it again. If it doesn't, keep using it. (I use regular even though my car's manufacturer says to use 90+)
