i own a repair shop, and they will do this after slamming down on them like that,,you may have to remove the battery Cable off it and see if that turns it off,i doubt it will but you can try it,,if not, it may need to scanned and see if it set a trouble code in it,,something might have happened to it when you hit the cat,,you never know,,id at least have it checked out to be safe about it,,good luck i hope this help,s.

If you hit the cat, the most likely story is that you damaged the sensor leads coming from the wheel, or perhaps the sensor sending ring on the wheel itself. (A more disgusting scene may be that some of the cat is on the sensor or sending ring and causing the fault!) You could crawl under the wheel that hit the cat to see if you see anything obvious, or take it to a shop. If its just the wires damage, it could be cheap. Sensor or sending ring, quite a bit more. Just a cleanup, I guess that's up to you.

Traction control and anti-lock brakes share systems and sensors. Try pulling the ABS fuse and driving around the block. Reinsert and see if trouble clears up. If not you could have some sort of wear condition in the brake system, possibly electronic ghost.

The cat may have hit one of the Abs Sensors by your wheels. get them checked out. Might have come unplugged or knocked out of adjustment.

You might have hit the cat but check on the dash to see if there is a way to manually shut it off otherwise you will have to bring it into a dealership or somewhere that they have the computer to shut it down.

for one...never swerve to avoid hitting a small animal. You may hit something bigger...such as a kid chasing the cat...if you can't break fast enough too bad for the cat. when you hit the cat you probably slid that wheel...clear the code....autozone or O'reilly's can do this for you for free.
