Last winter, there were quite a few times when I started the car and let it warm up and didn't actually come back out for an hour and a half! Is that bad?

10 mins should do. any carbon build up can be blown out with a couple of hard accelerations in a safe location.

being that it was winter time not much can go wrong maybe some carbon build up from idling for so long i would not do this in the summer time though your car will not properly cool also some cities issue tickets for leaving a car running in your drive way unattended due to car thefts and you will have to fight with your insurance company for a claim

It's not necessarily bad. But it does waste fuel. Once your car is at operating temperature or close to it, any longer idling is just wasting gas. Good Luck.

Just wasting gas. And I'd be concerned about getting my car jacked.

Its not bad, but it wastes gas. Get a car starter, then you can set the timer.

CARS DON`T NEED TO MUCH TIME TO WARM UP SINCE THE MOTOR IS BEING MADE WITH A LIGTH MATERIAL, IF YOU HAVE PROBLEMS WHIT, MAYBE YOU HAVE TO CHECK THE THERMOSTAT, CHANGE IT AND IT GET BETTER FOR SURE
