Your trouble may not be the fuse. I have a 1990 model Ranger XLT with the same problem. My fuse is good, I replaced the light switch and I still have the same problem. I was told it is probably the turn signal switch, all of the lights are wired through that switch.

The fuses are under the driver's side of the dashboard, just to the right of the parking brake. On some models the knee bolster must be removed to gain access. It isn't a major deal.
If the fuse is good, replace the headlight switch. The light controller for the dash lights, parking and tail lights all work from the same side of the switch.

Good Luck

first check to see if you have taillights if not you need a new switch it happened to me in an 83 f150 the fuses should be under the dash around the light switch. check your owners manual or get a service guide from your local auto parts store
