93 Ford Escort Wagon - 2 Windows: regulator or motor?

Driver's window rolls down, but will not roll up without pulling by hand and making a terrible clacking noise; and rear window will not roll down or up (no noise at all). Anyone have any idea if the front is a regulator and the rear a motor, or vise versa?

The left front sounds like a regulator or drive gear stripped out. The rear could be a switch or motor. Start with jumping around the switch to see if the motor operates.
