The wing mirror of my 1997 Peugeot 106 was knocked off and is hanging by its internal wiring. I need to either fix it back on or get another one. But how do I go about fitting it?

You shouldn't need to have to remove the full inside door trim.
You probably only have to (carefully) unclip the small plastic trim from the inside of where the mirror fits, then there will be three bolts that fit the mirror to the door. Undo those, and the mirror comes off (may be easiest to do with the window open, so you can hold the mirror while undoing the bolts on the inside).

A new (or scrap-yard sourced) mirror will bolt on the same way.
There's probably a rubber seal between mirrir and door too - if the new one doesn't have one, re-use your old one.

Then replace the plastic trim on the inside (may need a light bang with a fist), and you'll be good as new. Should take 5 minutes.

The glass is clipped in. You have to pivot the glass to the right as far as it will go, then using a small screwdriver unclip an end of the clip to release the glass. It's fiddly but you can just about see the clip ends if you squint in an hold a torch.

It's a peugeot. Get a different car instead of sinking more money in it.

May be simpler to replace the car.

Take it along to a decent dealer who might give you a good trade-in offer and buy a car with problem-free side mirrors.

a garage will only charge you 10-15 quid plus the mirror to fit it, is it really worth getting your hands dirty?
