I need to know if anybody knows how to read the check engine light code by jumping the plug where the computer plugs into? I have done this on Fords and GM vehicles but have never done it on a Toyota. I have a
95-1/2 Tacoma 4wd, man tran, the only modification is a K&N air filter that came on the truck when I got it. After a full tune up including map and oxygen sensors the truck still runs like crap. If you go at the throttle real easy it is okay but if step on it from a dead stop, it bogs down like its choking. I can't figure it out and have yet to find anybody who can. Any ideas on anything to check? anything?

I want to buy the parts myself because having the shop do everything is too expensive. I need to know, if, an axle assembly is all it takes to fix the front axle. Driver's and passenger side, because that's what an auto parts professional rep. told me.

This winch is rated for 8000lbs which I though was a good size for a jeep. However I believe some math skills are required in order to know if the winch can actually pull something. For example, if I was pulling someone back on the road from approximently a 45 degree angle downward, (let it be a dodge neon). would I have enough power to do so? I know there are are number of variables to consider but I'm just trying to understand the basics. 8000lbs for flat ground but from a ditch, that would be different, right?

I have a 1991 Dodge Colt. Today I was driving to school to buy my books and the engine just suddenly stopped on me. It started fine and was running good. I tried starting it again several times and it didn't even want to turn over. I called a tow truck and have it into a service center now. The timing belt snapped about a month or two ago, so it can't be that.

Seriously, saying "i dont know what the answer is" or "this happened once on my uncles car and he traded the thing in* isnt helpful. If you dont change your own oil dont try to help someone who needs a firing order or timing marks. Your opinions dont matter.

Anyway... Done ranting. Who wants the 2008 Nissan Skyline GTR bad enough to invent a time machine to get it?

I ask because, I have paid over $300 within the last 8 months for the same part at 2 different mechanics. So either both or none of them are lying to me. Am I wrong in thinking that mechanics should be honest with people about what needs to be fixed or not?

My mechanic just replaced the starter on my 2000 Intrepid. He drove it around the corner and it died on him. He wiggled the key a few times, and thinks it is my ignition tumbler. I do not understand how if the car is already started, how can a bad ignition cause the car to die.
