I noticed that after I've been driving on the freeway a while when I slow down or stop I see smoke coming from under the hood. Also while driving my car will atomaticly act like its in neutral while still in drive. And sometimes when I go to take off it will jerk and then go. I had an oil change done in februrary and the car sat until july. Whats wrong and what do I need to do. Any help I can get will help alot. I would rather go to autozone or advance and get parts than go to a mechanic. please go into detail what I should do. Thanx to all who answer

I drive a 5-speed and it's very slow at accelerating. I can push the gas pedal all the way in and it won't go any faster. What is causing this and what is the cost to get it replaced?

i have a 95 Ford Contour. I love the car and have never had any serious problems with it. It's in really good shape, except...the car was getting hot all the time. It NEVER overheated and the head and head gasket are fine. My Dad just put a new radiator in it and thermostat. the lines are vapor locked and it's not circulating the air and it's still plugged.... if anyone knows anything about radiators , please e-mail or let me know why the hell my car is not "bleeding"?

I have a 2001 Ford Mustang V6 with 80,000 miles on it.

I went to the local Jiffy Lube a couple of weeks ago and given the option of paying $4 extra for “bottled oil”. The attendant was completely unable to explain why the bottled oil was worth paying extra for.

What did he mean by “bottled oil”?
Is bottled oil any better than what they usually put in?

I know you just mount the motor and run a chain to the rear sprocket, but won't it make me go backwords. seeing as when you use a chainsaw the chain runs from top to bottom shooting sawdust downward. so i i mount i facing the rear wheel i would go backwards right. so how do i keep rear wheel drive and go forward.

Does anybody know of a good MOT test centre in or around the N10 area of London that will offer a free retest within 14 days if the car fails first time? I've found a few that offer 7 days but have been assured that there are many out there who offer a full 2 weeks (which will probably be needed, if it fails!) Thanks for your help, everyone.

I've been working on a 1993 Plymouth Acclaim as a demo car for the derby this saturday. It ran when i started a few weeks ago. Monday everything was hooked up inside the car (battery & gas tank, etc..) and it would start for a second and die right away. I thought maybe the gas was bad, so I switched and the car did the same thing. The next morning I couldn't even get a click out of the starter, but there was power going to it, and I tried several different batteries. Any ideas on how to fix it? My friend mentioned something about safety switches??

I was driving my car and started hearing a clicking noise. I noticed when I hit the excellerator it got worse when i took my foot off it went away. I got to the nearest red light when it died out. It started steaming pretty bad. Well after the cop pulled up he had me go get a bucket of water from gas station and pour it in. that made steam come out worse. The cop told me try to start the car again I did and he said it has no compression. My husband finally got there and saw that a hose blew. He said it must have overheated and no light showed me and that hose blew. Does anyone have any ideas what it could be?

I can have my lights on and the radio and nothing happens. It is only when I am running the A/C as far as I have seen. I watched it and the engine starts to shake and rattle when I have the A/C on and it in park, every time the engine shakes the battery indicater in my car shows more drainage. Please help...
