can i add any additives ? the fluid level is good... the car only has 50,000 miles .. they are telling me from $1,200 to 1,800 to repalce or rebuild the transmission..... I have $700 in the bank???? whats a girl to do???? help... my neighbor said to try an additive it gave him about 2 more years on an old truck ... but i don't know if I can just add that stuff to my car because it's newer thean the vechile he was refering to...... any suggestions help!!!! 2001 impala ls... thanks you!!!!!!!!!!

I have a 2000 Saturn SL2 with 112K miles on it. Recently my car wouldn't turn over at all, but it started with a jump and ran fine for 50 miles, until I got home. I was not able to start the car after I turned it off, so I replaced the battery. The car started, idled for a few moments, then shut off again. Then I was not able to restart it (the engine is turning over but will not start). I knew the car was a bit low on fuel so I put a couple of gallons into it from a gas can. I have recently had the oil changed, and it is not low. I attempted to restart the car after that, but once again the engine is only turning over, not starting. Several hours later I tried again, no luck. I have no experience with this and I am now out of ideas, besides having it towed to a garage for professional repair. I figured I would ask for ideas.

2 mechanics have looked and neither could tell me what is wrong.

As I drive down the road, I get a clunking noise from under the floor on every bump. Both front tyres are wearing a ring on the inner 15% of the tread. On full steering lock, I get a squeeling noise.

What do you think it could be?

I drive a 2003 Jeep Wrangler (automatic) and when my father drives it, he INSISTS on shifting to neutral at a red light. Is that hurting my transmission and does it hurt it when he does it at a rolling stop? I try to get him to stop but NO LUCK! He says he's letting my breaks cool off. That just sounds silly to me. Is there any truth in that? But then again, what do I know?

I was driving to work and my stereo went out. As I got closer all my interior and exterior lights were very dim. Hooked up jumper cables to another car and the car worked fine. Could it be a dead cell in the battery? Can a battery be to large for a car?

My ac will quit for no reason the fan won't work it's like the entire thing just shuts down. Is it just freezing up, does it need freeon or something? Because after it quits if it sits for a couple of days it will start working again.

First off, I've never painted anything without using my fingers, so I'm no professional. I called an auto body shop and asked them if they'd turn my car into a rolling chalkboard and they laughed. (I guess I would too, but I really want to do this.) Do I need to strip the existing paint? Do I need to sand it, prime it, or sprinkle holy water on it? Where can I buy chalkboard paint, and how many coats? And afterwards, how long will it take to dry? Is there anything I can do to make it last longer?

My 2000 Honda Accord turned on the Check Engine warning light last week, I know that htere is nothing wrong as I keep the maintenance updated.

its a mustang and i found a 5.0 motor for it. it has a v-6 in it right now and i was wondering if i needed a new tranny also. i know i need the wiring harness comp. and all the extra stuff....and would a rebuilt 5.0 engine be just as strong as a new one?

I accidently lost my car key. I use my vallet key now to drive. I have my glove campartment locked. If I go to a car dealership, what would I need to get a new key. (Most info. on car is in the glove campartment.)

All sensors,thermostat,water pump,and relays have all been replaced. Took one relay out and replaced with another, it worked a couple of times fine. won't come on agian.
