Probably dying battery, loose electrical wiring or the transmission
with old cars when you start investing on a lot of repairs chances are something will go wrong again. it's not worth the expenses and aggravation. get yourself a cheaper, reliable brand new car or recent models. did you check the carburetor or the alternator
w/c boost power from battery. Spark plugs would do it if not properly installed. Hopefully, you'll find a honest mechanic. Even if if you decide to sell this car it has to be running. That's why i stay away from American cars;too many prob.

Is the engine allright?
Also how old is the vehicle and how regularly was it serviced.
When was the last service done? It also depends upon other conditions like road, weather etc. Also, check the battery, tires.
My culprit is the engine... have a qualified mechanic look at it if it persists.
Goodluck! Good drive!

Bring the car into a good exhaust shop and have the catalytic converter checked out. Sounds like you have a plugged up cat which is a good cause for this problem and the check up at an exhaust shop is free! to bad the parts aren't!
Good Luck

this is what you need to do. check your fuel pressure might be some restriction in the fuel filter not enough gas going to the cylinders. check your distributer cap and ingition wire plus spark plugs. if you end up doing more work get a new car. don't waste you time on ford models and get yourself a cheap car like hyundai at least they got the best warranty so far.

This is dangerous any where but as specially on freeway when car behind you can rear end you, resulting in some death or injury. Do not drive tow it to a dealer, if there is a safety recall they will have to tell you, and fix it. Out of warranty-out of luck, may have to pay but what is the other alternative.
Good Luck.

This happened to me last spring. Luckily, the battery terminals were really loose and every time I hit a bump in the road they would fall loose. Hopefully, that's what it is.

its a problem with that model. There was a recall. You should really report that. Either that or you may want to check the transmission.
