What did the garage do wrong?
Do they acknowledge that they caused the damage?
Have you any evidence that they caused the damage?
You might be able to claim under your comprehensive motor insurance and allow the insurance company to seek recovery from the garage. If they recover from the garage then your no claims bonus will not be affected. If you have an excess and recover this then your no claims bonus will be unaffected.
PS I assume you in in the UK
