My 1987 Ford f-150 pickup keeps stalling, just like it's hot,but it's not and there's plenty of gas. It takes a while to get going again and when it does, it will only go a couple miles and quit again. This time it won't start again. I've replaced the battery, and don't know whats wrong. Help me.

Durring normal freeway driving at 55-65 the engine speed is normal durring acceleration. Soon after I reach cruising speed, the engine speed increases. If I push slightly on the gas pedal the engine speed decreases and I can feel the tranny "lock in".

Also, if while cruising, I take my foot slightly off gas pedal it tends to "lock in".
Trans fluid fairly clean. Not burned.
The transmission works wonderfuly all other times.

What gives? I don't want to waste a bunch of money on the wrong repair.

Why is my brake warning light starting to come on and it now stays on. I spent hundreds of dollars on this. Professional answers would be very helpful.

I need to find out what type of refrigerant is need in the A/C of my 96 Ford Taurus. I am noticing that the air is coming out warmer. We have had temps close to a hundred lately. The air is not evident for a half hour or more if at all. What are the procedures for getting this installed . I would prefer to do this myself, can not afford to take it to a repair shop/

Hi,

I have an auto g35 coupe. Recently I've been hearing some kind of grinding/buzzing noise at 1500-1800 RPMs (accelerating slowly from a full stop) after I have been driving in sit and go traffic for 20 minutes. It happens before I shift to second. I don't really hear it in other gears. I don't hear it until the car has been driven for a while. I especially hear it in my deck garage at work, but maybe that's because it's quiet. The noise lasts for 1-2 seconds. I think it's coming from the engine. Maybe it has something to do with the heat because I just started hearing it in the 95 degree weather. I never hear it on the highway or when I'm at a higher gear. I know that my fan belt is squealing a little bit so I want to get that replaced but don't think it has anything to do with this new sound. Anyone know what it could possibly be? I'm still under warranty and want to take it to a dealer, but I have no idea what to say to them. Any suggestions? Thanks so much

91 Buick Regal 3.8, first, blow up fuse, uprated it, bad, then, oil light on with key off, couple of days, melted pump relay module, almost car fire!, replaced pump relay module,

still key off - oil light on, two minutes - oil switch melted, replace oil switch, not connected because melted plug, runs fine,

but even while the oil switch is no connected, no oil light on the dash.

testing on the wiring on the oil switch i found current is it normal?

Faulty oil switch made the mess?, can i plug it again...

our 95 f-350 I think blew a head gasket today, because it popped and then put out white smoke from only one exhaust pipe and it smells like antifreeze. it was able to be driven home. I am hoping that it is not something morethan a head gasket. any input will help.

I drive an '02 VW Jetta GLS 1.8T with about 54K miles. I had the battery and alternator tested at a local car stereo installer, they were fine. And they said there was like a .40 milliamp pull on the battery when the ignition is off, which they said was normal. Any ideas on what to check or replace?

In Canada to become an automotive service technician, one has to complete a four-year apprenticeship of 9,000 hours, college classes and a passing grade of 70% or higher on the final exam. Is it similar?

i have a1998 pontiac grand prix 151,000 miles, with 3.1 v6 engine, it has a small coolant leak, it's coolant for sure.it seems to be a slow "seeping" coming from or around the water pump only while driving stop & go with ac on in town.temp gauge is ok. no lights coming on, no steam, the engine is not running "hot"
once vehicle warms up. hoses tight, clamps tight.after 20 30 minutes once parked, about a half of a beer can or about, 6-10 oz. of coolant will slowly leak onto the driveway. last summer, did the same thing, & i put 4 of those GM brand, radiator tablets into the radiator. it stopped until now. i had radiator flushed , cleaned at 30,000 miles at pontiac dealer. does it matter if i run the extended life coolant in it. or can i just run a 50/50 mix?
is their "add in" radiator "stop leak" that you would recommend that i could just pour in to the radiator myself?
if so, is this the "kiss of death" for my radiator if i ever want to have the radiator serviced.ido not much$

i know how to do the whole thing. i just never used a jack like this. instead of having a point of contact to meet with the notch on the underside of my car this jack has a much broader, flatter end. it should go against another flat surface but i don't know where. i'm not a fan of cars so don't give me a list of car parts. please give me an idea of what part of the car is best for holding its entire weight.
the rest of the tire change is under control.

didn't know i had a junkyard engine in my car until the engine blew recently and i have to replace it. 2 shops have independently verified that the engine is in fact a junkyard engine, due to the yellow digits scrawled on it that would identify it as such.

will i be able to track where that engine came from? or if i'm not "privvy" to that information because i'm joe-nobody, would a government group (ie: DMV etc) be able to do that?

i know i can probably take the serial number off the old engine and at least find out some history that way, through the auto manufacturer. i know that will take a lot of time though but i have to do something.

oh and FYI, i have done a carfax report on it and there is a 4-year gap of no vehicle history reported, but 65,000 miles accumulated. the services i've had done to it are on there - purchase, title transfer, emissions etc.

a bit odd?

thank you.
