My ac will quit for no reason the fan won't work it's like the entire thing just shuts down. Is it just freezing up, does it need freeon or something? Because after it quits if it sits for a couple of days it will start working again.

if the fans (i asume your talking about the blower motor and not the cooling fan for the engine) not working it may not be related to the ac, next time it happens swith it to heat and see if the fan still refuses to work, if it doesnt come on check and see if the relay is bad, this is a cheap part and only costs about a coupla bucks, if thats not the case your blower motor may need to be replaced (this is quite a bit more expensive and time consuming). If the fan DOES turn on when you switch to heat it could be somthing wrong with your switch, or possibly (again) with the relay, if its neither of these i would probly take it to a mechanic in your area as it might be somthing simple and its hard to figure out what it might be without actually looking at your car =)

The inside fan is an electrical system that works with heat and cold, check to see if it will work with the heater when the A/C is locked. Otherwise, sounds like the compressor but you need to have it checked, a cheap way is to use die purchased at the auto parts store, then a few days later take it to a shop.

Well, I was gonna tell ya that it sounds like your ac motor is shot but if your ac starts back up again....sounds like a fuse issue...and if your ac blows really cold air....then, NO...you don't need free-on...however, getting it recharged won't hurt to see if that helps....check your fuses....and perhaps your battery, alternator and the hose lines running between your dash vents and the motor.....K.........had ac problems that sounds the same...I had to do all this stuff....and it turned out to be....plugged hose lines...leaves and other junk was backing the lines up....fuse issues........needed to be recharged.....and i needed to totally replace the ac motor..........SUCKED....all this was such a pain...but I fixed it...when one thing goes wrong....another one follows...then your really SOL.....Good Luck!

Sounds like a connection fault in your ac wiring.

check the aircon belt in the engine if it is worn out or loose in tension.
