I'm not sure where you are, but my hubby got one from a snap-on tool truck that comes to the shop weekly.

Im assuming you want an engine computer reader, then it matters if you need an OBD 1 or 2 reader (based on car year, the switch was around 95).

and auto zone has ones you can borrow for a refundable deposite, or you can just use them there.

You can rent them at most automotive parts stores, if you want to have or own your own, you can try eBay on line and get some good deals. Make sure that you do some research to find one that will give you the results that you want.
