First off, I've never painted anything without using my fingers, so I'm no professional. I called an auto body shop and asked them if they'd turn my car into a rolling chalkboard and they laughed. (I guess I would too, but I really want to do this.) Do I need to strip the existing paint? Do I need to sand it, prime it, or sprinkle holy water on it? Where can I buy chalkboard paint, and how many coats? And afterwards, how long will it take to dry? Is there anything I can do to make it last longer?

Thanks, I really appreciate it.

For best results you'ld want to use an orbital sander with a grit of sand paper applicable for sanding metal. Then, immediately you'ld want to prime it using auto primer. Available at any automotive shop.
Then once you've gotten it completely primed (Oh and don't forget to tape off all your windows, headlamps, bumpers...etc...whatever you don't want painted) you can then seal this before starting with the chalkboard paint.
Most home improvement places carry this as well as craft stores.
The sealer, though, you might be able to get at an automotive place, but I'd check around online for sources too.

A very interesting concept.
If I was you and wanted to do this , I would first of all paint something else and leave it outside to see how the weather effects the paint.
Chalkboard paint is usually used inside and in dry conditions.
It can be washed , but what effects would continuous rain or sun do to it?.

I have seen chalk board paint at Home Depot.
I do not know if it is made to be used outside but look at the directions on the can.
I don't know how long it will last but just slap some more on.

Yes chalkboard wall can be definetly be cleaned through water or any material which is clean. You just need to clean it like you clean the dining table or so and it will be fine.
