Can a car run well on, like, a series-circuit of a few smaller batteries?

Series no! Motorcycle batteries are 12 v and so are cars, series wiring would make 2 batteries put out 24 v, 4 batteries 48 v etc. Wired in parallel sure, but, motorcycle batteries often cost more than a car battery.

If you hook them up in the correct fashion, the total voltage would be 12 volts between 2 batteries, however the electric load of a car is higher than a motorcycle. The batteries would not last long, as they are meant for a lighter voltage draw application.

In theory I suppose it's possible. But in reality they won't have the reserve capacity and cranking amps needed. Plus with the cost of one motorcycle battery and one car battery being about the same it really makes no sense.
