removing the bed is the easyist way but alot of times you run into bolts that are a pain in the a s s so since the truck sits high enough remove the tank to gain accses to the pump and its pretty easy to figure out the replacement steps

i like jack's directions BUT i prefer to lift the bed off (less chance of breaking some thing or a huge fuel spill) and it's not that heavy - replace the fuel pump sock / filter wile your in there.CAUTION do not run the pump out side of the tank it only takes about two seconds to burn it up.

the best book is the chilton total car care they only sell at kragens it the grey covered book it give the best exploded diagrams and make shure you get the right pump most tbi are low pressure and port injected are high pressure so know what engine and fuel injection system you have when purchasing the pump

Take the bed off of it, if you know how and have four hefty friends around it takes about 10 minutes.
