It is a stick shift not automatic. Sometimes it actually does shut off. What can it be? When I shut off the A/C it doesn't get as bad. Please Help

possibly the idle control motor but the most common thing is the pcv elbow colapses at the 90 degree bent and gets a hole in it causing irattic idle all ford have this problem follow the pcv hose from the valve to where it pugs in at back of plenum or the throttle body

You have an intake leak from a vacuum line, or the idle control sol. is sticking.

check the nuetral safty switch
