I accidentally left my California driver's license in my back pocket while taking an x-ray. I know this rarely happens, but on occasion, it is actually swiped, instead of just looked at, like at a bar, for instance, to verify its validity. If I take my license to such a bar, will it not work in the scanner/swiper thing? Should I get a new one?

I'm getting a 2nd hand car shortly. However, I haven't passed my test yet and so won't be driving the car. It will have to be parked in the carpark next to my building. Do I need to have insurance for this car while it won't be getting driven by anyone?
Thanks.

I have a friend who has the money for a car, eyes on a particular used car, but cannot afford to do the insurance and registration right now. Can she just buy it. Pay the guy cash and have him sign over the title to her but keep it in her driveway until her next check so she can get the money to go to the DMV and register it in her name and pay for the insurance and all ( actually have the current owner drive it to her house since he has insurance on it currently ) Would that be legal?

I was hit in the rear the other day, but I never found out his insurance company. I live in NJ and the code starts with NJA - I was wondering if anyone could identify which insurance company would use NJA so I could call them up and make a claim. Thanks.

She insures the vehicle. Her insurance agent said that as long as the vehicle he is driving is insured he does not need to be covered on my policy. He is 20, and in college. Since I don't own the car he is driving I would have to add him to one of my vehicles that he never drives.

I know it is by engine size, but let's get real, scooters aren't taken on the highway (at least I've never seen one) and aren't driven like a motorcycle.

I recently file for a bankruptucy and I had inherited a 2006 Toyota Camry. To protect my car I put it in my girlfriends name because she told me I could put it in her name so I did. After the bankruptucy I went to ask her to sign it over she refuse and said that I gave it to her is there anything I can do I doubt if any advice would be helpful but I feel I can say long bye to my car.

Hi,

I am wondering if you have to (or can, if the old license isn't yet expired) get a drivers license of the state that you moved to, after you moved, even if the out of state drivers license is still valid.

Thanks!

My sister was backing out of a parking lot where every row is one way. As she was backing out, another car from the row across backed out also and hit the rear passenger door. Since I was the first one to back out, she would be at fault for hitting me, right?
