Our son is 18. In May he attended a beer party . He was nervous & ended up having one beer & leaving early. Leaving the party he was pulled over by officer who knew there was a party. His alcohol level was .001. He was arrested for Wisconsin Absolute Sobriety law. Later we contacted our insurance company to get him proof of insurance so he could get an occupational license since he was starting a new job. They granted the proof of insurance though claiming we had never added our son to our policy. I distinctly remember giving them all of our sons information. Now they want to double our insurance costs just to add our son to the policy. We cannot afford to do that. He will be going to college soon and needs a car there. What do we do?? He will get his license back on Sept 7, though his occupational license is good until then. But if we don't submit to their extortion they are dropping the vehicle he drives from policy. He has no prior accidents or tickets.

I have Test Anxiety so i find my Online Driver's Education course very difficult. I've been working on it for over a year now. I've had my permit for a year and a half (yes i renewed it). Will insurance be any more expensive just to forget about D.E. and get my license when i turn 18?

I got a bank loan to buy a car, and I had to put the leinholder on the policy. Geico keeps sending me policy documents 2 at a rime about twice a week with different info on them. Some have the leinholfer listed and some have them deleted. They're driving me nuts. They're going to cause my car payment to double if they don't quit monkeying around.

ok, due to being in the hospital giving birth, i missed a second payment on my car insurance in one term. i was told by my broker that was it, there was nothing i could do, they would cancel. my insurance company is ING. i said ok so what next? she told me on july 10th that they were sending out a registewred letter that day stating it was cancelled (my payment was late on june 25th). 2 wks later i had not received anything so i called my broker again. this was at 1 pm (they close at 4) and no one called me back. finally, i called back again, she called ING and called me back saying ok they said if you can pay it today it wont be cancelled (i had asked MULTIPLE times if this was an option, i was told no) by the time she told me that, it was 330 pm. I live a 1/2 drive away and by the time i got the baby together, went to the bank etc, it would be after their closing time so i couldnt do that. i contacted another broker who my mother deals with and he told me that they would send me my

i was recently in a car accident-i was sideswiped by a guy w/ no lisence but he has insurance. the policy report shows he is 100% liable but his insurance is saying that im at fault somehow. i sustained no injuries during the accident that i know of and no attorney wants to work on this because theres no injury...i havnt had my car in over a week and the end doesnt appear to be near. i refuse to pay my insurance deductable on it as it was clearly not my fault and i know the other ins will take forever in subrogation before they pay anything. does any body know of any contingency attorneys that would take something like this without an injury? thanks!

I just handed in my bike permit, for a CT state Driver's License. In order to drive my parents' cars, do I need to be insured/added to my parents' insurance policy? We have two cars. Both cars are insured and registered with the DMV. As a new license holder, my insurance would be sky high if I were to be added to my parents' plan. If I went solo, without being added to the plan, can I drive my parents' cars by myself?

Saturday an uninsured, unlicensed, drunk driver hit my taxi cab, doing about $2400 or equal to 6-8 six weeks of net income, in damage to my cab. The car is operable, as most of the damage was to the left front fender and headlight assembly, but the airbag also blew. The headlight and turn are intact.

So far the city taxi inspector has not spotted me, but the annual inspections are coming up next month, so I need to get the damaged repaired. As this is the slow time of the year, I don't have $2400 available to spend, so I'm considering getting a title loan, as the car is paid for. My credit is shot due to an illness years ago that cost me my home.

This will be a first for me, so I would like to hear other people's experiences with it.

I crashed my car and took out the $4000 motor and swapped in original blown motor. I'm pretty sure the insurance company wouldn't give me $4000 or even half that for my motor. I also took off the $600 hood and $1700 wheels. We were told by the agent that they might not cover the aftermarket stuff, so we replaced everything we could that was aftermarket.

I graduated from college last year and have spent the last 11 months working in Baltimore and living at my parents' house nearby, but it looks like I'll be working out of Philadelphia starting in September. The nature of my job is such that, even though I'll technically be based out of Philadelphia, I'll be spending most of my time working in NJ and NY (rarely in PA). I plan on getting an apt in PA (right by the NJ border) for about a year, but also plan on keeping my parents' house in MD as my permanent residence for EVERYTHING (plus MD bank accts, doctors, voter reg, etc.)

What would be the rule for registering my vehicle in PA if I have an apartment in PA as my secondary residence (where I'll be spending most weeknights), but maintain my permanent residence in MD? The only way they'd even notice is if they look through apt complexes specifically to find out-of-state license plates... but even so, could I argue that my true state of residence is MD?
