Most officers will give you 5. I have never been pulled over for doing 5 over. But watch it in places like school zones and children at play. those are the spots you really need to watch the speed. But you should not get any points for this. unless you got the ticket for it already and then you might get 1 or 2 points for it.

If you got a ticket for it, yes, you will get whatever the points are for any other speeding violation. This means the minimum points. Some States give more points for 20 MPH over the limit. Maryland calls that reckless operation and fines start at $250.
