It is a 2000 kawasaki big bear, I'm not trying to make it "street legal" I just need to have it insured to take it to some local campgrounds that offer trails to ride. But insurance won't cover unless its registered and titled etc..

Well... off road vehicles font have to have titles in most states, it's an option. So if it was never titled, call the dealer and ask them for a MSO (Manufactures Statement of Origin) Just like a title. Not sure how you will get plates on it if it isn't street legal though.

My best advice..... find a different ins. co. I insure those things all the time with no title or regis.

What year quad????

I have a 88 Honda 250R that came with no title
Also a 85 Kawasaki KXT250 Tecate that has no title

It is an off road machine, there is no state that will let you get it ROAD LEGAL it has no blinkers
no horn
no place to put a licence plate.

Just get a ORV sticker from a gas station and stick to the trails.

Go to your local DMV and apply for a lost title. You will need the identification numbers from it. They will do the checking on it ever being registered. Hope you can find the person you bought it from in case it comes back as a stolen vehicle or not owned by that individual.

There has to be a title. The guy you bought it from must have one, or he is not the owner, and you may have just bought stolen merchandise. The receipt means nothing, other than proves you paid him for it.

Your state license place may be able to search it for you, but it may coast a lot to get a new title.
