I have the comprehensive option on my insurance and am using it to replace my car's windshield. There's apparently a $200 deductible when going through insurance company... I always thought that it means that I pay $200 and the rest will be paid by the insurer. Now the company changing the windshield (Morrey Auto Group) is telling me that I only get $200 off (e.g. if the actual bill is $800 I have to pay $600). Should I accept this or are they charging too much?

I live in Canada, BC and have my car insured with the monopoly ICBC.

Sounds great when you buy it, but when you submit a claim, you suddenly get an education about all the restrictions. And NationWide takes forever to respond to your claim!!

My car has always been insured under my father's name. He had a DUI a year ago, and the insurance costs rocketed. Do my rates rise also, or can I separate myself from the DUI and find my own insurance?

Can I call an insurance company the instant I buy a car and say, "Hey, I just bought a car. I want to get insurance for it."? I think companies should do this because if I take off from the dealership without insurance, and somebody hits me on the way home, I'm in trouble, right? I looked everywhere for this information, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Could somebody clarify this issue for me?

I am thinking of loaning a car I dont drive to my brother. It has PLPD insurance on it and he has a license so everything is legit. My question is, if he gets in a wreck, kills someone, or any other bad thing happens while he is driving. Is he responsible or am I?

My auto policy is from November to May. I want to increase my limits. My insurance says that I will have to pay from November to present. Shouldn't I just have to pay from today forward. Why would I pay from November when I did not have the coverage. Can anyone explain this? Thank you.

One of his break lights wasn't working at the time. Will my insurance company take that into consideration? Is it part my fault and part his? Or will I be better off just paying for this myself?

My girlfriend recently got a new "used" car and her driving record is not good, well she checked around for insurance for the vehicle and the best she could get $202/month with $350 deposit. So she started her new insurance and had that all settled. Well about 2 weeks later they called her back, apparently the guy did not disclose all of her information, so now, after shes already signed for her 6 month premium, he wants a $1500 deposit on top of the 350, and over $700/month. She cancelled a couple days ago and got a lot better, however, after 13 days of insurance, they are refunding some of her money, and keeping the 350 deposit, is this legal??? Any help would be great.

OK so, last night I got way to drunk to drive and had to leave my truck parked behind a truckstop bar in town. This afternoon when my friend drove me back over to get it some dang theif had stolen both doors and the dang BED off my truck! I only have liability but do you think this will be paid? If not do you think it would be legal to just build a couple of plywood doors and tape some trailer lights to the bumper? I went ahead and drove it home and dang if a cop pulled me over but he laughed at my sad story so hard he let me drive on home. It aint very cold so plywood doors would suit me but I dont need any more law problems. Who in their right mind would do this? One of my doors has -- HAD a big burned spot on it to. If I ever catch that SOB I gonna be on him like a hobo on a baloney sandwich. I cant afford new doors or a bed. Do you think anybody in the world has problems like I do. I swear Im gonna write a dang book.
