I'm 25 and have just been in my first automobile accident in which I was at fault. I hit the side of another vehicle. My car is only damaged slightly on the front bumper, while the other car's passenger side is quite dented. No one was hurt in the accident and I didn't receive a ticket. Both of us were able to drive away from the scene. I do have automobile insurance which should cover any damages to the other car, but I am concerned that this will cause my insurance payment to increase. Thoughts?

My boyfriend and I shared 2 cars. Both under his name. We broke up and he signed the ownership over to me. I have the certification, emission test, used car package, and signed ownership. I just have to go to the DMV and get insurance. We agreed that he would give me a month because I paid for both cars and paid mechanic bills as well. The car I gave him is now a write-off from an at-fault accident and no longer has a car. I said he cannot have my car but he claims it is his car. He says he is going to report it as stolen. Is it his car? Can he do this?

My 2002 Honda Civic with 30000
miles was hit while parked in front of our
house in Wisconsin by an uninsured driver who was arrested for
"hit-and-run". The driver of course wasn't insured,
and the vehichle he drove wasn't his, but his friends.
My insurance deductible is $1000. I have to pay this
deductible as a result of him not having insurance.

The car is being repaired right now and the damage is
$4760. The insurance agent at American Family told me
that they'd go after that money in court. Am I
entitled to get my deductible back? I don't believe I
am because the guy is a deadbeat and also think the
cars resale value is diminished.

The same thing happened to my mother who was hit by an underage, unlicensed, and uninsured driver a few years ago and she never got the money back. Am I stuck paying the $1000?

I had just backed out of my driveway and had changed the gear into drive forward. I was in process from moving my feet from brake to accelerator and my gear was in drive, when this happened. So basically I was not backing out anymore, I was in the process of going forward when this occured.

If you are fully comp, does that mean you are allowed to drive anyone's car? If so, could I get insured on a crap car for cheap at fully comp and then drive my parents BMW and still be covered if I crashed it?

It seems like our Governement is assisting illegals to purchase cars and trucks and then allowing them to get drivers licenses. At least that is what appears to happen on the surface. When I see an illegal driving, I often wonder if they have a driver's license or insurance. Any comments?

A friend has a 93 Dodge Stealth that was purchased new from a dealership and NEVER been involved in a serious accident. Before you define this type of title, I know where it comes from. 75% damage and a cost saver for the insurance companies.

My friend is driving around with '93 tags, is current with the license fees and emissions checks.

She has been to DMV 100 times and they are NO help. Her insurance is with AAA and she has gotten nothing but the run around.

She was in a parking lot and returned to her car to find a cop WAITING for her. He gave her a ticket and impounded her car. About $350 later she got car back and that doesn't include the ticket.

Anyone have any ideas? It seems like somebody hit the wrong key at the DMV or AAA and won't stand up for their mistake. The cop is a whole different issue. It seems like he did the deal because he could.

It just seems NUTS that everything is in order and NEVER a "TOTAL" accident and this crap is still happening.

I know that you aren't suppose to even smile on your passport photo but what about your drivers license?? Will the DMV make me take a new photo even though I'm the one paying for it? It is not like I will be covering my face in any way, but people still tell me not to do it...

I was involved in an accident last year in May and suffered whiplash. I had uninsured drivers insurance.

I entered in a claim back in May, however I did not seek any money for medical expenses. Can I seek the insurance pay out now? as I need to get a MRI done etc. Also is it possible to get damages for pain and suffering?

My daughter got her first car a couple of years ago. When I set her up with insurance, I asked for the same that I raised mine too which was $500,000ea person and there's a max of $500,000 ea accident. She's 20yrs old now, and apparently got in an accident and is being sued and our insur company didn't set her up with the $500,000 like I asked but with only $25,000ea person/$50,000 ea accident. They made a huge error! Do I have any recourse at all??? We have absolutely no money to hire an attorney to battle with our own insur company over this. Help!!!!
