I've just renewed my bike insurance with a different company because they were cheaper. I've not made any claims this year so I choose 1 years no claims when filling out the form.

What do I need to do now? Will my old insurer send me some documents to prove my 1 year no claims. I take it my new insurer will need some type of proof?

Was curious if a person has life insurance and is in a car accident where they are drinking and driving does the insurance pay. Ultimately it is their own fault so I wasnt sure how that works?

Hi all. Hopefully a really quick question:

My wifes car is in the garage being repaired for a break in. We have been given a rental car under insurance while its in the garage.
This morning we awoke to a puncture. Am I liable for this. If so, should we get the puncture sorted ourselves (ie repair or replace the tyre) or should I let the garage who the car came from sort it out, and bill us?

When the car was given to my wife she declined the offer of insurance on the rented car. I am not sure if this would have covered us in the event of punctures, I think this was mainly for damages to the car.

Look forward to any feed back.

Cheers
Tony

My partner crashed the car into the back of someones car who stopped needlessly and very suddenly. What are the consequenses of accecpting liability for this? And what if he doesnt accept liability?
My partner understands that according to the highway code it is his fault because he must have been too close (he knows he was not driving too fast also the airbag did not release) but it was very sudden and the other driver had no reason in the world to stop so suddenly after driving down a straight road which was clear and no hazzards to jump out at you. Plus the other driver only got a dent in his bumper while my cars front is completely smashed!

I have never owned a vehicle before and I am new to all of this. How does vehicle registration work? Don't I need it registered in Indiana to drive it here for the time being? Or should I wait until I get to New York to get it registered??? Sorry, I am clueless.

One idea was to get the lowest possible coverage and continue insurance. The problem though is that I may be only back like 3 month out of the year here, but I really want to keep my car. Is there a insurance company out there that does short term insurance policy? or I can leave the car here with no insurance but is that a bad idea? Please let me know your thoughts and advice. thanks!

so i'm taking my license test for the first time tomorrow, and frankly, i'm pretty nervous.

in california, you only need to take a written test for your permit, right? meaning there's no sort of written test before the actual driving test?

and also: any tips? ha.

thanks

I lived in CA, my car was bought and first registered in CA for 2 years , then I moved to SC and re-registered the car there for a year and And now I just moved back to CA permanently.. I'm going to register the car here and I don't know what to expect. I did the fee calculator for dmv website, it calculated $700+ for a non-residential vehicle.. I was kinda hoping that it is not true. They must have my old record of CA registration so that I don't have to pay very high the non-residential fees.. it's rediculous since CA is my home. Any idea? Anyone? I 'd aprreciate it.

I was recently in a car accident which wasn't my fault. The insurance company of the guy that hit me says they will only pay for 3 days because "it is how long the autobody shop should repair my vehicle." Not only did they take more than 3 days to state that it was their insurer's fault in the accident, but my car was undriveable and 3 days is too little to fix something like that. Is there a law saying that the guy's insurance company should pay for the entire rental car bill?
