Most require drivers to use hands-free devices, such as bluetooth, when using a cellphone while driving. But if you want to make sure, better check your local laws.
Take note, however, that in the 2005 The British Medical Journal, there are findings that drivers using cellphones were four times as likely to be involved in a serious crash regardless of whether they used hands-free devices. It suggested that it is the act of talking, not holding a phone, that is the most distracting.

For you? Ha! First, the simple use of the English language is enough of a challange. Maybe studying how to speak and spell properly would be a good start. But if simply being an idiot is all you aspire to being, by all means, go play with blinky things....lol

I thought so, that's why they were invented. As long as you are not too distracted in the conversation though - the did a test on TV and gave the man sums to do while in a driving simulator and he lost concentration in his driving. I think the message is not to talk and hold your phone handset but if you HAVE to talk then use your bluetooth.

Yes, I use my headset all the time as I drive a lot while working but I suppose they'll add that to their list along with navigation systems when they run out of things to fine people for.

I just checked the D.O.T. website and it says that you are allowed to use Bluetooth or any other type of "Hands-free" device, but you could still be charged if you don't have proper control of your car at all times, i wouldn't worry about this act, its there to stop those idiots who drive with phone stuck to their ears and don't pay attention to what is in front of them.. Don't know about you but these clowns cut me up on the road EVERY day!!

Yes and your phone must be held in holder. I would not advise making calls as scrolling for the number could be seen as dangerous.
You could use voice activation to make a call. I have bluetooth and I try to avoid using it.

Yes.
HOWEVER...
The police can still stop and fine you is they think you are driving erratically, but then they police can stop you for dangerous driving if you change the radio, arm out the window, eat an apple etc

theoretically yes you can use bluetooth but the police can still stop you for pressing the button to answer your phone whilst driving so you are advised to set the phone to auto answer if you have it and this will stop this from happening

yes, any hands free device is absolutely within the law, just make sure you are fully connected up prior to setting off in your car.
