I just got my license, and I was wondering if I could drive my mom's car even though I'm not on her insurance yet (because its soooo much money). The car has insurance, I'm just not on it, is it okay? What happens if I get pulled over? Or an accident? I live in Texas if thats important.

Thanks!

I just found that my auto insurance policy had been expired. ( I am too careless :( ...) .. Meanwhile, I tend to sell my car within 1 month. Do I have to present a new auto insurance card to the AAA service specialist while ceding my car to the buyer?

I was in an accident today, and am guessing it will be a total loss, but am still paying it off. Will I have to make double payments now, if I get a new car, or will the insurance pay it off and give me the difference? I would like answers from experience, please, or someone who knows (like if you work for an insurance company). Thanks!

My family and I were hit in an automobile accident by a drunk driver. He also fled the scene, but was caught by a police officer who saw the entire accident. He had insurance. We all suffured back, neck and head injuries. Between us all, we need therapy, surgery, nurological work etc. Yes, all expensive stuff. None of us have health insurance and we are suffering. It's pain pills everyday. The driver had automobile insurance. My question is, will his auto insurance pay our medical bills as we go through the medical things we need? Or do insurance companies simply wait until the "settlement phase" to pay one lump sum? None of the doctors we need to see will see us since we have no insurance and the treatments will costs thousands. What do we do here? Don't they have to pay, the accident was 100% the other driver's fault. He ran a red light, T boned us doing 45 MPH was completly drunk, open container, then fled.

Is it possible to buy temporary car insurance on a daily or weekly basis? I know this is offered in the UK and you can purchase this type of insurance for driving into Mexico, but can you buy daily policies in the US? I have a car that I want to keep parked on my ranch and only drive a few days or weeks during the year and I don't want to pay for a whole year policy.

I have Allstate Insurance. Full coverage; comp and collision. Unsure of how my bumper ended up with damage....either someone backed up into me while parked or the only thing I could think of was bumping into a snow bank the other day. I want to call my agent, but I am afraid that even if I inquire about it that he may list and report the damage. I just may fix it out of my own pocket in order to avoid any premium increase. Thanks in advance for you input.

I was rearended and the woman who bumped me originally said she wanted to pay out of pocket and not deal with the insurance companies. I am fine with this, because I just want cash, and definitely do not want to have my bumper repaired. My car is worth maybe $1500 and when I went to get estimates (the highest possible of course) they said it would cost about $900 to have it fixed. I have college to pay for, so I really would rather have it in cash. Anyway, when I faxed her the estimates she decided to go through her insurance company and said that I probably wouldn't be able to get just cash. Is this true? How can I avoid getting my car fixed but still getting the money? Thanks!

partner had a accident a few weeks back, some eegit went into thee back of it on the M5 and it has since then been written off bu the insurance people. we've agreed to buy it back off them but they are saying we have to get it mot'd again (was only done in october) and take it to the dvla for a test of some sort to make sure it is roadworthy. all this for a slight bump to the back, which can be easily sorted with a new bumper and back lights!!!

I chose a Toyota dealership to get an original roof. Amica's appraiser found a guy to do it cheap. The roof leaked before I drove it out of the shop. After 4 months of this nonsense ,amica finally gave in and got the correct ragtop roof. Now the rental car agency has charged my credit card over $1200.00.Amica has informed me that even though I have full insurance coverage,I have to file with Small Claims Court to sue the city and get my money back..I've been told by the courts it could take up to a year to get a court date..What rights do I have?

I was in a car accident. I was sitting, stationary, waiting for lighst to change when someone hit me from behind, which pushed me into the car in front. The woman who hit me is paying for damage to my car, but the car in front of me was also damaged and they have sent me the quote to pay for their damage. The accident was fully the fault of the driver behind me, shouldnt she be responsible for both cars that were damaged?!
