If you declined medical attention at the scene this will make it much more difficult to get covered by their insurance. If you are really injured and not just "sore" then you are probably looking at a lawsuit since the insurance company will decline the claim because it sounds as if you did not accept or request medical attn. immediately after the accident.

Call the insurance company for the person who was driving the car you were in. They will probably be filing a claim against the other insurance company and will be able to tell you what to do to get your medical bills taken care of.
Just don't sign anything that offers you money in exchange for not filing a law suit. You may need to if your injuries are worse than you think.
If no help from them, call a personal injury lawyer.

The driver of the vehicle in which you were riding has insurance. I'd ask that person to make sure that you're covered, then make an appointment at the doctor's office, or if that's impractical, just go to the emergency room at the nearest hospital and explain to them that you were in an auto accident as a passenger. Believe me, you ARE insured.

First, you need to be talking to the insurance company that covers the car you were a passenger in....they may have Med Pay available. They will instruct you further.
Second, if you need medical attention get it. But soft tissue injuries such as what you're claiming resolve on their own without treatment in 6-8 weeks.
Third, don't look to the at fault person to pay your bills....their insurance will review your records & bills and settle with you in one lump sum. What you do with the money is up to you....

A terrible accident would have broken your back or neck. I was in one, and my neck was broken in 3 places. You were in an accident, but it was not terrible. Were you taken to hospital or examined by EMS on scene? There will be a record of injuries and treatment. Have you seen your doctor? Has he examined you and made a report? There will be a record. Have you missed work? Have you suffered loss? Do you have permanent scars? Have you permanent limitation of motion? That is your starting point. With these records, you can possibly talk to a lawyer.

IF the other drivers insurance accepts liability they will be responsible for your medical bills. Simply file a claim with them (or contact them if your friend has already filed a claim) and they will give you the steps you need to take to get your bills paid.
