If you have a drivers permit, then your parent insurance is good enough. if you have a regular license, then no, you need to be by name on your parents insurance

Is the car you are driving insured? Remember, insurance follows the vehicle, not the driver. If it's dad's car, and it's insured, and he has given you permission to drive, you're covered. He should have your name added to the policy just to be safe though.

Your best bet would be call your insurance agent or your dads. Nobody here can answer this for you without reading the policy. You have too much at stake for guess work. Especially since you're just learning to drive.

It depends if you are over a certain age all insurances have different rules for this. I know that you dont have to have insurance to rent a car in Washington State.

If you father's vehicle is insured, and you are driving with his permission and are meeting all the restrictions of your licence/permit, then you are covered. Also if your jurisdiction's learner's is a licence with a bunch of restrictions (i.e. they have issued you a driver's licence number), then your father should add you to his policy as an operator. Ask your father to speak with their agent/broker to be sure.

Only if you want to take a chance of a BIG fine and/or loss of license until you are 18 - 21 in most states.
Also your father would be open for hefty fine also.
All it takes is a rider on your parents insurance policy to cover you so just get it BEFORE YOU START!
ALSO IF YOU HAVE AN ACCIDENT YOU AND YOUR PARENTS MAY BE PAYING A COURT JUDGMENT FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIVES AND NEVER BE ABLE TO OWN ANYTHING!!!

first of all - either the VEHICLE is insured or it is not....... if there is a policy on the vehicle that is in your parents' name then while you have your learner's permit you should be covered (check with your agent).as long as a parent is with you...... most of the bigger insurance companies will cover a minor that is on a learner's permit that resides in the houshold with the parents....
